KARL FRIEDRICH BENZ

Karl Friedrich Benz or Karl Benz was the inventor of the first car who was born in Germany on November 25, 1844 and died on April 4, 1929 (aged 84 years). He is an auto engineer in Germany as well as the inventor of the gasoline-fueled car.During his lifetime, Karl Benz was only married to a woman named Bertha Benz. They have 5 children; Eugen, Richard, Clara, Ellen, and Thilde.

Since childhood, he was already interested in science. He is a student at Karlsruhe University under the guidance of Ferdinand Redtenbacher, a pioneer majoring in machinery at the university level. After graduating he opened a workshop with his colleagues and dreamed of creating a horse-drawn carriage.

His research began around 1878 with a major design called the Benz Patent Motorwagen. This vehicle is a three-wheeled vehicle similar to a bicycle. With this design too, he has created an extraordinary invention which is the forerunner of the gasoline car. Karl Benz is one of the founders of Benz & Co which later joined the Daimler company and changed its name to Mercedes Benz. Until now, Mercedes-Benz is still in production and is known for its super products and sports cars.

Starting from Military Needs

The history of the discovery of the car first occurred in 1769 by Nicolas Joseph Cugnot. Cugnot was a French military engineer who wanted to help soldiers lift their cannons by building a steam-powered tricycle.

His discovery later inspired William Murdock who collaborated with James Watt in 1784 in England.

The next discovery also occurred in England in 1801, where Richard Trevithick developed the vehicle.
